Flexo Sustainable : Spring 2013
Green Team At Paragon Label, Petaluma, CA, the goal is to influ- ence and inspire employees, customers, visitors and the community to get involved in their own sustain- ability practices. The company ’s philosophy is as much about how people treat each other as it is about how they treat the planet. Located in the wine-country and launched in 1998, as a divi- sion of Mrs. Grossman’s , one of the largest decorative sticker manufacturers in the world, Paragon Label is a family-owned company specializing in printing fine quality pressure-sensi- tive labels. It has been an active Flexographic Technical As- sociation member for 20 years. The firm runs five flexographic presses, a digital press, a one-of-a-kind laser-cutting system and state-of-the-art foil and embossing presses. Being recognized for outstanding accomplishments is not new to Paragon. The company has won many major awards for printing excellence, including two Best of Shows, seven gold medals, eight silver medals and eight bronze medals in FTA Excellence in Flexography Awards competitions. Among other noteworthy accolades, the firm has been presented with 10 leadership awards for environmental and sustainable practices. The most current honor captured—Paragon took top prize in FTA’s 2013 and 13th Annual Environmental Excellence Awards Competition. And when Jason Grossman, president, accepted the award, April 28 at FTA’s Annual Awards Ban- quet, it marked the second time in three years that Paragon was singled out as topping the field in earth-friendly pro- cedures and precedent setting environmental stewardship policies and programs.
