Flexo Sustainable : Year End 2011
FLEXO’s CERTIFIED PRINTERs In the past year, three flexo printers were certified adding to the nearly 40 printers and five other flexo printers that have been SGP certified thus far. PolyCello in Amherst, NS, the first Canadian and two locations of Plastic Packaging, Hickory and Forest City, NC, were certified this year. A number of other flexo facilities are going through the process and will be certi- fied in the near future. “Many of our customers are increasingly focusing on sus- tainability initiatives and certifications. It is important to them that their key suppliers’ policies and behaviors support them in their efforts,” commented Craig Evans, vice president of marketing for PolyCello. He continued, “As with other compa- nies who have travelled the sustainability path, we have found that the steps taken to reduce our environmental footprint have also provided financial dividends. Producing less waste, using less energy, less water, less material is good business.” SGP Certified Printer and FTA Member Robbie Fantastic Flexibles.
